THose towards the end -- do people ask you how dilated/ effaced you are?

MIL seriously asks my DH this after my Dr appts & I find it annoying...

I am not far enough along but that is quite the disturbing question to be asked by MIL-posting it on here where we are all dealing with it is quite the other thing IMO!

I am sure if you wanted to report something back, you would!

At this point I don't really care anymore... if anyone wants to know, I tell them... 'Cuz quite frankly, it seems to mean squat at this point (I'm due Tuesday and currently 1cm and 50% with no signs of additional progress as of this AM)... Don't get annoyed with it. It's not worth the frustration. If your MIL is anything like mine, I'm sure your MIL will do plenty in the future that WILL be worth the frustration.

It didn't bother me, but I had pre-term issues and people were worried about me going to soon and it was only my mom's and dad that asked.

I will always find this stuff weird though since why would you ask somebody a question like that when we all know how it's checked? I mean come on do you ask women if it's "tight" down there? It's just soooooo personal. Same with: are you breastfeeding and so on. Just to personal IMHO.

People ask me, but it doesn't bother me. It's out of excitement, so I think it's nice. Don't let it get to you- people just get excited when babies are coming!

People ask and I tell them. No biggie for me.

BUT I don't appreciate all the "Negative Nancy's" who respond with "Oh, it could be weeks at 1cm". Yeah, I know. I've heard that. From EVERYONE. Be supportive and just cheer me on for cripes sake! Progress is progress and I'm hanging on by a thread here

People ask me and it doesn't really bother me honestly - it's like a way of asking how you are progressing. I feel sort of bad now b/c I always ask friends and close family members and didn't realze it might bother them I actually like it b/c its like they care how I am doing - my MIL doesn't ask ANYTHING - she doesn't even call after appts this time around. That bothers me more
