Those w/ large families....

Are you getting tired of having to include EVERYONE in every little thing you do?

When we had Genevieve's bday party, we sent out invitations, and only about 2 people RSVP'd. Not one of my uncles called me and neither did any of my husbands aunts. We have always included everyone before in the past, but I'm getting tired of it. Billy cooked for the party and we didn't even know how much stuff to make. I was even going to call them, but my grandmother told them I would appreciate a call, and told me they would, and they still never did.

Mine and Billy's aunts and uncles hardly ever come out here when they are invited. But GOD FORBID we don't go to them when we're invited.

I'm already thinking about the new baby's christening, even though he is not born yet. I want to have just our immediate families. IS it tacky to stop inviting everyone now when they were always asked to join in the past?

Oh yes!!!

I have a large family *and* DH and I have a huge group of friends--and nearly all of them have multiple children under the age of 5!

For Katherine's christening and 1st birthday parties--yes, we had 2 because of the amt. of people--there were about 100 guests, including kids. I DO NOT want to do this all over again, especially since my children will be less than two years apart. I don't think we will be excluding any family, but our friends' list is getting a serious reduction as far as I'm concerned.

I have found it interesting that when I look back, we have not been invited to as many 1st b-days OR christenings for 2nd or 3rd children--I guess everyone feels the same way you and I do!!

As far as the non-RSVPs, well, that's just plain rude--they'd be the first ones axed off my list Chat Icon
