we still have not gotten ours....

we have a split and I plan on doing a swing gate at the top of both sets of stairs and then the easier to move one at the bottom of the stairs to the bedrooms since that is where the tv is, the kitchen and we spend most of our day on that floor

This is what we're going to get, when the time comes (baby's not here yet but we've already been worrying about this). My friend has one in her house and it's sturdy. We have wrought iron rails and had no idea how to gate them. We'll still have to figure something out for the top level where the bedrooms are, but we have time for that.

if you get the kidco safeway gate you can buy an installation kit so that you can mount the gate to wrought iron railings. You will actually need 2 kits for each side, but it's the only one I know of that you can attach to wrought iron.

we'll do two gates- one on the top of each stairs, none on the bottom (for now, that could change).

i'll probably just block off the stair to the basement, but i have no idea what i will do with the wrought iron railing.
