Those who bought their cribs at BRU

Was your crib made by Jardine? We fell in love with a set today (Cherry Windsor Collection), but I can't get past the fact that Baby Bargains only gave the cribs a B+ and the other furniture an F due to quality issues.

Plus, I can't find anything about Jardine on the internet, which makes me really nervous Chat Icon

Does anyone have one of those cribs?

Re: Those who bought their cribs at BRU

I have the crib and furniture...

The crib is good so far. It looks like it will hold up.

The furniture SUCCKS! Im sooo upset over it, cause Id idnt listen to the ratings. We got it on clearance , so I said well how bad could it be. BAD....

The paint has scratched and chipped in like 5 places already, one of the knobs came off and teh screw to hold it in was stripped, we had to glue it..and the second drawer gets stuck, comes off the track ( cause its a wood track that wore away) every time you open it ( and my DS is only 5 weeks old! )

I would be so livid! Did you call and try to get a new set or some compensation or something? 5 weeks and that kind of trouble is unacceptable!! The more I read about Jardine, the more nervous I get, but it seems like so many people get their furniture at BRU!

Re: Those who bought their cribs at BRU

We have a Jardine Crib and furniture. I didn't know about the ratings and I have to say I am pretty happy with it. There is one spot on the changing table where the color has come off a bit, but I am constantly putting wet wipes on that exact spot so I think it's my fault.

The crib-- my only complaint again is my fault. I didn't get a drop side. The front is lower than the back. On Christmas Eve DD decided to climb out of the crib and did a header. We turned the crib around and now have the back facing front. It's really hard to lay her in for me now because of this. Again, my fault because I didn't pick a drop side. Other than that I am very happy with it.

My attitude was this is not her forever furniture. Each piece was around $300 and if it made it through 2 babies I would be happy and when she or our next baby went into their big kid room I would buy them better furniture. But for now at $300 a pop I don't care if she ruined it, but that hasn't happened yet.

Hope that helps.

Our crib is from BRU but it is not by Jardine, it is the Wendy Bellissimo collection and we love it.

Re: Those who bought their cribs at BRU

I was just checking out furniture today and looked at the Jardine. The cribs seemed ok, but I wasn't crazy about the dresser/changing table. The drawers didn't open smoothly, and the construction wasn't the dovetail that Baby bargains recommends. But I'm looking to get a Jardine crib, and a babi italia dresser, as long as the finish is close.

Re: Those who bought their cribs at BRU

thanks everyone!! I am so confused Chat Icon Chat Icon !

On the one hand, like Jamie says - how long do you really use this furniture for, a couple of years? I can't see spending a small fortune, but on the other hand, you want something that is going to last and look decent and the Jardine stuff is still running close to $1,000 for 3 pieces.

I checked out the Baby Bargins website for more updated reviews, and there aren't any - so I am also wondering if their stuff is getting better since less people are complaining?? But then I hear Donna's story, and I get freaked out again!

We're heading to Behr's tomorrow - I'm hoping to find something we like, without a crazy high price tag!

I know the set I bought has since been discontinued. I know I saw someone else post their nursery pictures on here and they have the same set. I can FM you pictures from 2 years ago and then tomorrow when my DD is up I can take pictures of what they look like today but to be honest other than the one spot I really do not see a huge difference.

We got a Jardine crib - I have no idea what the style name is though - I saw it, liked it and bought it - in about 20 minutes.

Works great - definitely get the drop down side that you can use with one hand - helps a lot!

Re: Those who bought their cribs at BRU

i have the Jardine set and i am very happy with it...I like the way everything looks, everything seems very sturdy and the crib was very easy to put together. The other furniture came assembled already.

I dont have any complaints!
