Those who buy things to sell on Ebay
I may be a little dumb cause I just don't get it.
If you're selling new stuff on ebay- you must be doing it to make a profit right? So say you buy something for $300- you hope to sell it on ebay for more.
Now, if you were able to buy it in the store for $300, why would someone buy it for a higher price on ebay, when they could just go to the stores and buy it there?
I think I'm confused to how this all works.
Is it like selling tickets- you go out and buy a huge amount so it sells out quickly then you can sell them at a large premium for profit?

i dont sell things on ebay (one day i will learn how lol) but my friend does. She gets stuff really cheap, whether it was a sale/clearance or stuff from work she gets wholesale and lists it..since she got it so cheap she makes a good profit on it.

If someone bought it on sale or clearance, chances are there is an extremely limited quantity... and what goes on sale in one store does not necessarily go on sale in another.

That is true. I guess I get it.
I just know that I would never buy something that I know I could get for a better price- but I'm cheap like that

it works a few ways....
1. if you have a discount or access to some kind of a discount you can get things for less
2. if you live near an outlet or century 21 and can get things for a lot less, there are other people who dont have access to these places who are happy to buy them
3. if something is rare or hard to find, you might get more than retail for it
I used to buy/sell purses and a few other things in college and I made tons of money by knowing the "ebay market" -- ex: I knew when pink northface fleeces were extremely rare and selling for way over retail on ebay. I found one marked 25% off at a boutique near my home, so I bought it (with a 2 week return policy) and listed it on ebay and got more than double what I paid. I also used to buy beat up coach purses and restore the leather with mr clean magic eraser and resell them for a lot more on ebay.
i bought myself a pair of uggs yesterday, and considered buying a second pair to resell once they sell out closer ot the holidays but decided it wasnt worth the hassle right now
