those who don't/didn't swaddle their newborn...
...what did you put them to sleep in? Do you use a blanket?

Re: those who don't/didn't swaddle their newborn...
My DD hated to be swaddled. I just put her in warm pajamas and will be using the sleep sack soon also.

I just put her in warm pj's.
She never liked being swaddled from day one
We used a blanket when she was first born - but once she started moving around - she hasn't used one again

DD hated to be swaddled...right now she uses a light blanket but she's really starting to move now so I'm going to start putting her in a sleep sack.

I only swaddled (with a very light blanket) from his belly down. DS would not let me swaddle his arms. That's his comfort thing and they MUST be by his face at all time.

We used either the sleep sak or the pajamas that had arms and zipped up but did not have legs cut out of them.

Re: those who don't/didn't swaddle their newborn...
DS let me swaddle him for about 2 weeks and then started his little revolt. He would squirm out of it (waking up to do so) and cry "ahhh ahhhh ahhh" the whole time. More than anything he wanted his arms free. We decided to stop all together when after making the perfect swaddle, he would pop his arms out in 2 seconds flat
In the summer he was just in a onesie for bed and if the AC was on then I used a receiving blanket for his lower body (tried to keep it clear from his face).
Now I have him in footed pjs with a onesie underneath to keep warm...sometime a receiving blanket but nothing more.

Re: those who don't/didn't swaddle their newborn...
just FYi that babies Dont liek to be swaddled but if you do other things to incorporate it, they will be soothed. Swaddling alone wont usually calm them all down.
If you really dont want to do it, please dont use a blanket.
A sleepsack or nightgown will work.

Re: those who don't/didn't swaddle their newborn...
We swaddle DD but we don't put her arms in unless she is completely knocked out already. If she is even remotely awake she will grunt and groan and cry until she gets her arms free.
