Those who have had an egg transfer?
Did they give you valium before hand? When I was at my ER, the nurse told me that they would give me a valium when I arrived for my ET. But when I got there yesterday, they never did. I finally asked (because they had me sitting in the room for over an hour waiting on the doctor - urgh!) and she said 'we can give you one if you want but it probably won't even kick in before he starts). I actually wasn't that nervous so I didn't take one. But...now I was just reading that it actually is to help your uterus relax and not contract. Do you think not taking the valium is going to hurt my chances?
(as you can tell....I am a worry wart! )

I wasn't offered and didn't ask. Everything worked out for me. Good luck and try not to stress!

Re: Those who have had an egg transfer?
I did have Valium...
During my fresh cycle they gave me 2 and I was KNOCKED OUT! I literally fell asleep while waiting for the doctor to come in to do the transfer.
The second and third times they gave me 1. One of those times worked, the other didn't - so I don't think it has anything to do with the valium, KWIM?

Re: Those who have had an egg transfer?
I got the valium on Saturday as soon as I walked in, the nurse gave it to me.
I really need it more b/c my cervix is slightly tilted and sometimes I have discomfort when they try to in the catheter. It helps me relax.
No, I don't think not getting it will change anything.

Never offered and never asked - and trust me when I say I was a HUGE bundle of nerves. I did have acupuncture at the clinic though, right before and right after the transfer.
Still worked for me!

Re: Those who have had an egg transfer?
I didn't take valium for the ET. It's not any worse then an IUI (except for when they press down on your full bladder, that's not comfy!! )

Re: Those who have had an egg transfer?
Ok, thanks....I guess it doesn't make a difference then. I was just surprised because they mentioned it at the ER and then never brought it up at the ET. I was really looking forward to it because I have never taken one before and I was curious to see how it made you feel.
The procedure wasn't painful at all and I wasn't too nervous so I guess I didn't need it....
Thanks again!
