Those who have the LL Bean Jr. book pack...
promise me it is big enough for Kindergarten.
I just got it and I was hoping that the lunchbox would fit in it with my son's belongings b/c the bag does not have a clip to attach the lunchbox. I do also have a cheaper but bigger backpack from Sears but my son so far only wants to carry the LLBean one that has his initial. Should I go a size up? They do allow returns on monogrammed items. How many books do they have to carry in K?
BTW I ordered it on the 20th, got it today with monogramming. Then I saw that there is now 20% off. I called and they adjusted the price right away. I think I want to keep it because it is well worth the sale price of $23 and change. If you ordered one recently you may want to call to ask about price adjustment.
I love the backpack itself, especially the reflective part. I don't expect my kid to be out at night but it cannot hurt to have that.

We used the LL Bean Original for K. He always came home with something jammed in it, so it was full. His lunch box, a sweat shirt, whatever. I'd get the larger one b/c it will work for several more years. My daughter has used the same size one for 2 years and will be using it this year (3rd grade) too.

I always buy LL Bean and have for years.
I bought the smaller back pack for DS last year and also got it monogramed. Hate it! Way to small. I don't think that they would take back anything with a monogram on it.
My DD has 2 of the bigger back packs and they are great.
They really are terrific, worth every penny and the will refund or exchange an item if it is damaged.

They will take returns on monogrammed items. I just called to confirm. I ordered the next bigger backpack but I have a feeling I may keep both. My son is small and I want him to be able to wear it on his back. All of a sudden my house is overflowing with backpacks. We have some that my son uses only for toys but he knows which toys go in which pack so I am sticking to his organization. Those were gifts last Fall & not what we wanted for Kindergarten.
