Those with LCD or Plasma TVs that you mounted
Who did your install? Also if you don't mind, how much was it?
I'm doing some research now and there are a few people I could use but some do the wiring only but won't hang the TV..
Either way, it's not cheap. DH and I have never successfully been able to find the stud in our walls. I think our walls are weird. even with the electric stud finders we are clueless..we don't work them right.
So, give me some info, if you don't mind sharing.
TIA!

Hbby and his brother installed ours themselves.
Hubby "thinks" that PC Richards wanted $350 to do a wall install.

This is an easy DIY unless you ave brick wall...
Buy mounts online at buy.com... Stores will charge you 100 or more when you can buy the same mount for like 40 bucks...

We paid $100 for a mount that turns 360 degrees ( cause we really needed THAT )
DH installed it himself. He did have to use a stud finder, though

my DH installed ours. He ran all of the wires so you don't see them.

Re: Those with LCD or Plasma TVs that you mounted
Dh is really not handy this way..he admits it but I'm trying to get him to get one of his handy friends to help..some of these guys do all kinds of stuff to their houses.
Can anyone recommend a bracket? We got a quote from PC Richards for $179.99 for the Omni-mount u-3. I really am scared to mount this giant TV on a flimsy mount and it's hard to compare the ones online.
Any help is appreciated.

How big is your TV?
My mount is from Sears- it was $100 plus we had to buy a special plate for $25

We have two, one is 46" and the other is 32". Sears could be a possibility. At this point I'm hoping to save some money wherever I can. This stuff adds up quickly.

I have the Samsung 32 inch- that one definitely requires the plate that's sold separately because the mounts on the back don't fit the Sears mount on its own. It's under 50 pounds, so DH was able to hang this one himself (and he's not the "handiest" of guys)
46- hmm. I'd probably call in a pro for that one.

Re: Those with LCD or Plasma TVs that you mounted
I have this mount
I brought mine about 20 bucks cheapier when they had a sale.... This will support your 46" Use google checkout. I have a 50 currently on this.
When this is mounted, its gonna be attached by 4 big bolts (2 on each stud)
as for a smaller mount for the 32... we have this one, with out the tilt
Same thing, 2 studs, 4 bolts. its not going anywhere!!
FM if you want more info. 180 bucks for 1 mount is the silliest. I don't remember where i got my other mount from. My bedroom mount can be adjusted to be pulled out from the wall and tilt up and down...
If you really need help mounting and you live close by, i will help you along with your DH.

Tom-thanks so much. You are the best. I think DH will try to get my neighbor or his friend to help him mount them. I just have visions of the thing coming crashing down..!!!!
I showed the Sanus mounts to DH and he loves them..so glad we don't have to pay that much for just one mount.
Again..
mwha!
