Have you tried Aerosoles? I know a teacher who swears by them because they are so comfy!

Re: those with problem feet
I had horrible bunions, the only thing that helped me before I had 6 surgeries to remove them, was to buy shoes alittle wider/bigger. After my surgery, I went from wearing a size 9 to a 7.5. Also, I found that aerosoles were the most comfy for me, Steve Maddens were a no-go, Kenneth Cole was good as well.

Re: those with problem feet
My sister (18 now) has had bunions since she was younger and has had surgery on them twice --- she has jeuvenille rheumatoid arthritis since about 2 years old.
She goes to an orthopedic doctor and gets orthodics custom made for her feet -- and then makes sure that she tries the orthodics in shoes before she buys them to make sure they fit in properly. She wears all kinds of nice shoes --- all flats but different types of sneakers, boots, etc. Just has to make sure the orthodics fit and this way her foot doesnt move around in the shoe the wrong way.

I don't have foot problems, but I love comfy shoes. I like Rockport (although not lately) and Easy Spirit. Liz Claibrone also has a line of very comfy shoes. Flex I think they're called.

Re: those with problem feet
Do you wear a wide width? Do they still bother you?
EasySpirit has some extra wides, but they are hard to find elsewhere.
I reccomend searching by width on Zappos.com. I know shoppign on-line for shoes can be weird, but people post reviews & you can return easily.
Stores that carry wide widths include, Easy Spirit, Naturalizer, Rockport, Marty's, 9 West( limited styles) & sometimes DSW & bigger macy's. And JCPeney has some, but more in the catalog than in the store. And Sears has a few, but never anything I like.
Loafer type shoes are usually easier to find in wide widths & they are squareish, so thet don't press on bunions, but they aren't everyone's style.
Also, Foot Smart sells cushions & things for bunions & other foot problems ( and some shoes)
Good luck!

Steve Madden is designed for the "junior" market, or at least that's where Nordstrom's carries them ) so I think that's why they tend to be narrower. I can't wear them either.

Re: those with problem feet
I have had the surgery 3 times on each foot, they still come back. Hate to say it, surgery is only a temporary solution
I just found shoes I like, fit well and didn't kill me at the end of the day and bought a few pairs of each. Boring, yeah, but it worked.
