Thoughts about telling our family the big news!!!
Dh and I are thinking about telling our families on Father's day.
Being the overly organized person that I am, I ordered a few cute things from cafepress.com.
The only thing I'm nervous about is that I'll be 8w0d on Father's Day, and I'm debating on whether or not that is too soon to tell. Before my bfp, I always thought I'd be on the phone with my mom the minute I got the pos, and things are working out differently.
My poor dh though - he's been amazing and I think I'm sucking the life out of him! I think it's time to bring in more supports so I don't squash him with my neediness .
So what do ya think? Father's Day at 8w0d too soon to tell the family? I'm thinking we're going to go with it...
Below are some of the cute items that I bought from cafepress when we tell our families next weekend... Image Attachment(s):

yes, i think you should tell them on Fathers Day, and let your dog wear the shirt.
I bought my daughter to her grandparents house wearing this shirt and i was around 8 weeks also.
then i emailed our friends this picture. Everyone callled me up Right away!!!!!! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Thoughts about telling our family the big news!!!
I was so nervous about telling anyone, even after seeing the heartbeat at 6w and 7w. We told our parents at 8w, but made them keep it a secret-we didn't want anyone else knowing until we were into the second tri. (I didn't tell work until 16w). I'm glad we told them, as I would have wanted their support should anything have gone wrong after that point.

Re: Thoughts about telling our family the big news!!!
i actually told my parents a couple days after my BFP. Is there going to be a big celebration on fathers day w/ a lot of family members?
I am 10 weeks 4 days and only told a handful of family members and bestest friends. they way i look at it is I tell people who I know I can trust to be there for me if anything happens and not random people or family members that i see a couple times a year.
I am waiting as close to 12 weeks as possible........... to tell all the rest.
I actually got my mom a birthday card (i found out a couple days before her bday) It was a grandma card but,,, that is not unual for me b/c it was from my puppy (she is grandma to him) but..... I wrote "we love u" from puppy and baby X......)
it was so cute, she got it right away!!!!
Have fun!!! it is so exciting and for some reason i was SO NERVOUS......

Re: Thoughts about telling our family the big news!!!
I originally planned to wait to tell anyone until I was out of the first trimester. I ended up telling my parents when we visited them 1 week after getting my BFP. I was really glad I ended up telling them b/c it made them so happy and it was nice to talk to them about everything. We told DH's family when we saw them a week later.
We saw the heartbeat a few days before Mothers' Day. We told our extended families on Mothers' Day weekend (I was 7.5 weeks).
You need to do what makes you comfortable, but I think it's a great idea to tell your family on Fathers' Day.
