Thoughts for 5th Anniversary gift
Our 5th Anniversary is coming up in September. I can't believe it has been that long!
Anyway, we are on vacation for the week and we are going to the Poconos (Ceasars Paradise Stream) for 4 days and then straight out east to the beach house for the rest of the week.
I have no idea what to get my DH. I was thinking of dinner out and getting us a room at the Inn at Fox Hollow - where we spent our wedding night - the night before we leave which we are leaving very early the morning of our anniversary.
Any other thoughts?

I love your idea about the Fox Hollow. I'd go with that.
Another idea, though not nearly as prsonal or original as yours would be broadway tix and a hotel room in NYC...my wife and I did that for our 5 year and loved it.

See, I would love the broadway tix. Although DH LOVES music he is not much for shows.

I got him a jewelry box engraved as a wedding gift and I got him a wood dresser top valet (monogrammed for his b-day.
He doesn't ever really eye many electronics.
But I do know he would LOVE a new bowling ball (to add to the other 8? that he already has) but that cetainly isnt very romantic and for what he would want they still run $200-$300.

Sue these are also great ideas but John is not much of a watch or any other jewelry wearer for that matter. He does wear one of his wedding ring at all times and he just received a Rolex from his job for 25 years of service. That he hardly evwer wears. The massage sounds great but for me......he has had a couple but as he says he could take them or leave them.

Sounds like Alex. It is so hard to shop for him too. I am going to have to think of some ideas. I will try to scope it out @ Carol's on Sunday.

Re: Thoughts for 5th Anniversary gift
did you let the people at the inn at fox hollow know that you got married there? im pretty sure they give discounts for people who return for their anniversary! HTH!
what about something to do while your away, something you can do together, like a couples massage? or plan a whole evening, dinner (maybe on the beach) and whatever else is around for you to do.

I didn't call the inn I just checked the website....maybe I'll call on Monday from work!
We are going to the Poconos where there is plenty for us to always do and then we are going out to the beach house so maybe I can figure something out for out there. I know he'd like to go watch the sunrise on the beach in the hamptons so maybe that and then breakfast and the day out.
ETA: Just called the INN & they give no discount other than AAA & the rate is still almost $300 with that.
