Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
I dont know much about hicksville except that every time i go there i get stuck in a ton of traffic on 106/107.... There is a lot of good shopping there though - hence the traffic.

Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
Some nice areas, the neighborhood has been changing for the past few years, not sure if it's for the better.

Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
DH and I had an apartment in a house in Hicksville. Some areas are nicer than others. Our area was right off of South Oyster Bay Road and Old Country Road and was nice. The neighbors were all sweet and it was a pretty quiet area.

I live near Hicks ville. Some parts are really pretty. Taxes are low. They say the schools are so/so but I think that its all relative. Hope that helps.

Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
It has changed a lot. I used to live in the area Rebecca was talking about when I was married to my ex - that area is still the same...very quiet, a lot of older families, homes are extremely well maintained. As you go more towards 107, the neighborhoods have changed a lot. It has gotten very ethnic, which is not a bad thing, but some people may not like it. The SD is okay, not the best not the worst...but the taxes are lower than most of Town of Oyster Bay.

Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
FSIL lives in Hicksville - she has a very cute cape. Everyone on her block keeps their houses well maintained. I think her taxes with star are $5K. they are so low bc of the mall and all the businesses in the area.

Re: thoughts on hicksville area?
I grew up in Hicksville. My parents still live there. I loved my neighborhood growing up. It was very family oriented. Where I grew up it was very close to Jericho which is a great surrounding town. I also went to Public school there. I graduated about 9 years ago from the HS. It wasn't that bad. The teachers were good and you are able to get a great education. To me that is very important. Like most towns there is good and bad. The location of Hicksville is great and is so close to shopping, parkways and the train station.
