Thoughts on tshirts with attitudes for elem school kids

God, I hate them! My SIL gave me one that my niece outgrew for my DD that said "It's so cute how you think I'm listening" Ugh! And I really dislike the ones where the brother or sister is dissing their sibling. Even though mine fight like cats & dogs half the time, do they really need to take to a jerzee?

Carry on...

ETA: Robbie and Noah BOTH have shirts that say "It's my Brother's Fault". They also have other shirts with sayings on them. Nothing too wild. I don't love them but *shrug* - they wear what they like within reason

I totally agree.... I hate them, and fail to see how they are appropriate for school.

In third grade, my Ds's friend was sent to the principal's office for wearing a WWE shirt that said "Give 'em hell" or something to that effect. It had the word hell in it. His parents were called to bring him up a new shirt. The mom pitched a fit about it Chat Icon Chat Icon I really don't get parents sometimes... even later when telling me about it she was going on about how she's the parent and is capable of deciding what her DC goes to school wearing... unreal.

I really hate them...but then again I hate when my MIL buys SD shirts that say things like 'Daddy's Little Princess'...I don't see a need to call a child a princess, she already acts as if she's entitled!

Dante has one that resembles Space Invaders but instead of the space ships it's a girls face. It says something about how annoying his sister is.

I pick my battles and obnoxious t-shirts aren't high on the list.

Re: Thoughts on tshirts with attitudes for elem school kids

I don't even mean in school, I mean in general. I wish I could quote some of the more annoying ones. Kids have enough attitude already nowadays, I don't need it from their shirt. Wait..did I sound like I was talking about my own personal kids? Chat Icon Chat Icon My DS #1 had a shirt that said "I decided to put myself in charge" when he was 4 bc - he frickin thought he was in charge (still does Chat Icon ) Maybe that's why I dislike them so much - fear that the shirts will be self fulfilling.

The my brothers fault one I've seen and honestly it doesnt bother me as much as one that says "the ideal sister" and it has a doll cartoon with arms nailed on and tape over the mouth and I've seen others - it seems to me the brother sister ones are especially antagonistic. The same gender ones (or can be same gender) seem to be more in fun and the opposite genders seem angrier.

I've been having some insomnia so I might start talking to shirts on the rack in the stores or on people bodies in the street if I don't get a decent night's sleep tonight. :

My kids totally wear them and I think they're cute, especially since my boys have no such attitude to their personality.

My personal favorite from their collection is one with a picture of a pinata that says "I'd Hit That"

All depends on the saying...

My son has one that says "Caution...May require supervision"....completely appropriate in his caseChat Icon

See, I wouldn't like that one-sounds sexual to me.

I don't mind some of them but that one I would not like.

I don't think I've ever seen these shirts in person, but I know what your talking about. My kids wear a uniform to school, maybe that's why, but we just got a letter home today with the dress code for non-uniform days and these shirts were expressly forbidden Chat Icon

Re: Thoughts on tshirts with attitudes for elem school kids

My kids have matching T-shirts that say "That's it! I'm calling Grandma!" Chat Icon DD hasn't worn it to school. I think some of those shirts are inappropriate, but some, I think, are fairly innocent like the one my kids have.
