Thoughts? WR related
I have a good acquaintance I went to college with getting married tomorrow. Now we always talked about her upcoming wedding and stuff, and was very excited for her and her FH, and I would have loved to have been invited but I knew money was tight since they were paying for about 90% of it themselves so it was only family and very close friends.
She called me today we talked I congratulated her and then she tells me she has 2 spots that opened up and asked if I'd want to go.
The wedding is tomorrow. I already have tentative plans as long as the weather isn't too bad tomorrow, so I declined.
Thing is now I'm like wow talk about really last minute invite, how would you feel? Would you go?
ETA: When she had first gotten engaged I really was under the impression I'd be invited and the way she always talked to me about it I was a bit surprised when after a convo few months ago I found out she wasn't.
It just shocked me that less than 24 hours to go and I get a call.

Knowing from the get go that she could not afford to invite you and then thought of you first when she got a VERY late cancellation I think is nice. I would probably go.
Now if she was having a 300+ person wedding that she wasn't paying for/money was no object and you presented the same scenero than I would not go.

I totally agree! That being said - it's obviously your call as to what you want to do tomorrow, but I don't think she has bad intentions.

She probably already paid for the guests and rather than see them go to waste, she thought of you. I might go, but not sure what I would give as a gift being that I was invited at the last minute.
I did invite a friend to my wedding who I haven't talked to a lot in recent years after getting a lot of OOT declines (family that we had to invite.) I asked her, apologizing for the manner in which I was doing it and told her not to worry about a gift. She was thrilled to be invited, but she didn't expect to be invited in the first place. I guess it depends on the particular situation.
