Thrombophilia workup

I went in this morning for my thrombophilia work up - Dr. Kofinas office sent me to LabCorp. They took 40 vials of blood!!!!! The nurse at the dr. office told me it would be around 20 and that I had to fast from midnight before. Thank god its over, now I wait for results. Love waiting.

mine was 20 at bioreference. it all depends on the size tubes that they use. good luck!

i didnt fast either. i asked them specifically and they said i didnt have to.

sorry crashing....i go to dr kofinas also and had the thrombophilia work up and i had like 30 tubes of blood taken...it was insanity. turns out i do have thrombophilia which i guess explains all the blood clots in my placenta. i plan on asking more about it at my next appt.

I went last week....they took 20 vials from me at Quest Diagnostics and I was specifically told to fast for at least 8 hours. That was a lot of blood.

I didn't do this but was told to at one point. My dr's office said it would be 20 and the lab said 40! I then found out it's all the same amount of blood, just different size viles. (20 larger ones vs. 40 smaller ones, for example)
