Throw-up Tantrums
I posted a few weeks about my DD ( 2yo) throwing up when shes scared (usually when we enter a parking lot, thinks shes going to the Drs.) but now she does it when shes scared and when she doesn't get her way 99% in the car. She doesn't want to go in the carseat and she throws a fit and starts throwing up. Another day the windshield wipers were on and she started freaking out and threw up. One day she was yelling for daddy, then one day grandma and she threw up. We are literally cleaning the carseat and jacket everyday! I don't know what to do anymore.
I called the Dr. and he said its normal. Some kids bang there heads, kick and scream or puke. I am more prepared now, I have a bucket in the car, paper towels and an extra coat. I now have to sit in the back with her. I am just looking for support and possible tips. If your LO did this, how long did this phase last?
Thank you!

Re: Throw-up Tantrums
My son did it at bed time. When we used to put him to bed he would vomit. We thought he was sick and inadvertently reinforced and gave attention to it. With the help of his ped we figured out he was doing it for attention. What we used to do was have him throw up clean him up without saying a word to him and have him go back to sleep anyways. Once he learned we weren't paying any attention to it, he stopped.

DD would throw up at bedtime too. We also paid a lot of attention to it until we spoke to our pediatrician. He said that she was doing it for attention. After we spoke to him about it, we would clean her up without saying anything and put her back to bed. It eventually stopped....I guess because we weren't paying attention to it. It's hard and definitely upsetting but it's purely attention seeking behavior.
