Throwing up and loose stool? Stomach bug or something else?
When DS got up this morning, he had throw up all over his sleep sack and DH said he had to clean it up from the wall next to the crib too!  I'm a light sleeper and will always wake up when I hear him even cough, but I didn't hear anything last night so I'm not sure what happened.
Then he spit up a lot today, refused his squash (which he normally loves), kinda gagged on it. Then tonight, just before I was going to give him dinner, I was smelling something baaaad and when I picked him up, I realized it was poop! Explosive, loose poop at that. It was all over his clothes and ohhhhhhmygod, the smell!  I was gagging. It was nothing I ever smelled before coming from him!
Could it be he has a stomach bug? He didn't really have anything new or different to eat yesterday. He was acting normal, playing, etc. Just his eating and pooping patterns that changed.

My daughter has this as well. So far, she has had it since Monday...constant diarrhea.

Uh oh! So even though he's acting normal otherwise, it could still be a stomach bug? DH and I are ok, I hate that we may have brought home something to him

I just posted the same thing --- Logan was GREAT yesterday, no issues at all, then puked 5x overnight and had diarrhea 2x today.
I made him soup for dinner but he refused it. He had a pedialyte ice pop and went to bed early. No puke or poop for 12 hours now. He won't drink pedialyte, but he enjoys the ice pops.
Same as Henry, he's acting normal otherwise.
I hope tomorrow is a new day for both of our boys!

THanks everyone, I feel so bad. DS started fussing a little while ago and turns out he had another massive diarrhea poop - it was mostly water. Temp of 100.2. Called the ped, he said to give him Pedialyte for the next feeding (I had to RUN out to Duane Reade to get it before they closed at midnight and they didn't want to let me in! Thankfully they did) and then to give him half formula (no breastmilk!) with half water for the 3 following feedings.
Have to check his temp again in 4 hours.

Uh oh, jusst woke up to a bad poop and then she puked up her entire first bottle! I am going to take her temp now!

I would keep monitoring his temp, just to be sure. I would give him nothing new to eat, and just stick to rice cereal and apples/banannas. You can also try a lighter lactose formula, since lactose makes diarreha worse. With the ped's permission, depending on how bad the vomiting is, then I would give pedialyte.
It sux so bad when they are sick, but he'll be back to normal, soon...and he could have picked it up anywhere..not necessarily from you or DH

So weird - I checked his temp throughout the night and just now - no fever (yay!) and so far no more poop or anything.
My mom said maybe it's another tooth coming in???
Just to be safe, I gave him a bottle of pedialyte just now per the ped's instructions last night and will give him half formula/half water for his next 2 feedings. I'm going to keep checking his temp to make sure it doesn't get a fever.

Oh no! I hope he feels better!! If he only really threw up once its possible that its just teething. That fever was pretty low too so its def could be a teething fever. (DS has really loose stools, wont eat as much, and gets low grade fevers when hes teething bad)

Thanks! Yes he only threw up once (Thursday overnight)- he spit up throughout the day on Friday, but he has reflux so I wasn't sure if it was related. My mom is convinced it's teething. I've heard other moms say the same as you, so I'm hoping it's just teething!

wow Yesi - with the exception of the throwing up part - this is EXACTLY what's going on with Em.
the loose poops - but acting 100% normal!!! The HORRID smell from the poop - oh my GOD...
how is Henry today??? Em so far has poo'd once and it wasn't 100% diahrrea, but not 100% solid either...

ya see - Em has SO many teeth already (14) and this has never happened with her teeth....she's only had poo's like this when she's sick - so i'm at a loss.

DS has had loose stools for a week now. no vomiting, no fever. I posted here and no replies b/c i thought it was the milk i was adding to his bottles.
Ped said it could be a touch of a stomach bug, but he's acting fine overall. Or teething..
who knows.
I stopped adding milk to his bottles for almost 2 days now and its still loose. So i dont think its that.
I hope your little one feels better!
