Thyroid Testing Question
Yes, I know this belongs on HEALTH but I need a quick answer!
Do you need to fast the night before getting blood work done for thyroid testing? If so, how many hours in advance?
TY!

Re: Thyroid Testing Question
Check the website of the place where you are going to go get the blood taken; sometimes they have instructions per test.

Re: Thyroid Testing Question
OK, thanks... my OB/GYN gave me paperwork to go get tested today but she didn't mention that I would have to fast.

Re: Thyroid Testing Question
no, not for thyroid, but if you're getting a whole work up done (blood sugar, cholestrol, etc.) i would avoid eating too much and avoid fatty foods.
