Does anyone even shop there anymore? I feel like when I was in college and right after everyone had to have everything from Tiffany's (The Bean, etc.) and I haven't heard anything about their jewelry in awhile.

I think the quality is crapola especially for the price. You are paying for the name .. Its one thing to pay for a name when it comes to clothes or bags ( b/c usually that means better quality)
but for what you can spend there I want QUALITY jewelry. Don't care whose name is on itChat Icon

I actually boycotted it a few years ago after they were so obnoxious to me for returning a scratched cake platter I rec'd as an engagement present.

I want to remind the snotty workers that they work there, they do just that work there, they weren't shopping there! They treated me like I shouldn't be shopping there! Chat Icon

Anyway, I was hoping for the demise of Tiffany's that's why I asked, and seriously hadn't heard anything about them in awhile! Chat Icon

Re: Tiffany's

I see Tiffany charm bracelets on a lot of people. I don't really have any experience with them though so this is the only thing I recognize.

Re: Tiffany's

I have a lot of jewelry from Tiffany's. I happen to love thier stuff and I love shopping there, the people have always been nice to me. I wear my Venetian bracelet a lot. I also wear my knot earings and mesh ring pretty often too. As for the necklaces, not so much anymore but I'll never part with them because they are simple and classic desigs. I have a few platters and bowls from them too (engagement/wedding gifts) that I absolutely love.

I have a lot of Tiffany's jewelry but I usually just wear the "classics". Most of the trendy stuff from a couple of years ago just sits in my jewelry box.

I got their silver jewelery when I was in HS and College - I just recently went on their website and saw how much their prices went up. I think they are priced too high for silver

But I still like their crystal stuff like candle sticks, and pitchers etc.

Frank Gehry, the architect, has just launched a new line. It is OK. I still get some things there.

Re: Tiffany's

I do have alot of Tiffany jewelery. My fiance knows that to be the ONLY jewelery store and has bought me basically one of everything they sell. Honestly, it all looks nice for a month, but the silver tarnishes and scratches so quickly it is unbelievable. He bought me a platnium and diamond stack ring, the diamonds fell out!!! I also bought him a necklace there and we had to return it within a month b/c it tarnished so badly it was gross.

I've always found Tiffany to be overrated, whether it was their jewelry or their tabletop items.

But, I guess they're not doing too bad financially since they're opening a new store downtown.

Re: Tiffany's

I have alot of tiffany''s jewelry and I too am kinda upset of how the jewelry holds up over the years- for the price the quality should be so much better.

I'm proud to say I have never shopped there. Chat Icon

I used to go the store on 5th Ave and drool over the diamonds and occasional museum pieces they had on display.

sorry, but I am not paying a 1,000,000% markup just so I can say it's from Tiffany's Chat Icon can I afford to shop there? yes. but I won't

Re: Tiffany's

It's overrated.
I don't even find the quality of their jewelry to be anything wonderful.
