time is going to fast.....back to work

I just stopped BFing (almost two weeks ago), going back to working in a week and just started to have DS sleep in his crib.... Time is going to fast, He has gotten so big in such a short time. I can't believe he is 12 weeks old!!!

Any advice on going back to work?

Me too! Me too! I only have another sort of 2 months left of my maternity leave and I am determined not to ruin it by thinking that its almost time to go back to work! I have been off of work since December 9, 2005 and I have NO idea of where the time has gone!!!

I did it and it is hard. Just remember you will get into a routine and your DC will definitely know you are mommy!Chat Icon

DS took the bottle really well so I only BF in the AM and late PM for just a day or two. Then DS seemed to not latch on so well anymore. I pumped only once or twice a day for 3-4 days.

Re: time is going to fast.....back to work

Go back to work on a Wed, not a Monday. Work until 3pm, not 5pm those first few days. Easing into the schedule is better and helps both you and the baby.

KNOW that it will get easier but you need time to ease into your new schedule.

Leave the baby with their daycare provider for a few hours a few days before you go back to work. Bring his supplies to the daycare. Don't do that on the first day back. Go for a walk, get your hair done, get a new outfit. It will make you feel better when you go into your job. Buy a frame and put a photo of the baby in it for your desk.

Give yourself an hour more than you think you need to get ready the first few days. Lay out your outfit and get everything ready for the baby.It will help A LOT.

Know you will probably cry..it is okay. In few weeks you really do get used it.

HUGS.

Do you guys do "settles" at your daycare centres? I am taking Noah in everyday for 2 weeks for about an hour, so somedays I spend an hour playing there, then I leave for an hour.

I thought this was common practice? Isn't it?
