Time to say goodbye to...

2 naps. I knew this day would come. Lily's 17 months old now and was having trouble getting to sleep the past 4 nights. Yesterday we tried no 2nd nap (well, she fell asleep in the car for 20 minutes on the way home from shopping all day, but that was it.) And it worked! She slept great all night. I'm sad that I'm only going to get 1 "break" during the day now. But it's so worth it if we can improve our nights again. Let's hope her 1 nap will be a good long one! Chat Icon

I know you're right, but I didn't get her napping regularly in her crib until this past fall! Before that it was either in the car or stroller. Chat Icon I am grateful for the months I did have of 2 regular naps though. Chat Icon

Re: Time to say goodbye to...

just curious...what time does she nap?

Sometimes I put him down at 12, other times at 1...he will sleep 3-3.5 hours.

That means he wakes at like 4:30...sort of on the late side.

Today she went down at 1:30...2+ hours later she's still snoozing. Chat Icon Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tonight goes well. We had some awful nights recently. Chat Icon DH is away again too. I don't know how I'll handle a bad night alone. Chat Icon 3 hours sounds like heaven!! You lucky girl. Chat Icon

Re: Time to say goodbye to...

we still have bad nights...last night, he went down at 8:15...woke at 10:30 PM...stayed awake yelling at me till 11:15.

woke at 6 AM.

From 6 AM till naptime, I feel like I am in the twilight zone.

I have to conk this kid out to get him to nap.

Wow! DS will be 15 months tomorrow, but, he said goodbye to the morning nap around 9 months or so. You did have a nice long run.
DS naps about 2-2.5 hours.
That's it.
Goes to bed at 8-8:30 and is up at 6:30.
Very rarely he'll fall asleep in the car, but, if we are driving a good distance he will.

Re: Time to say goodbye to...

You are lucky! We lost the two naps at about 13 months!

I actually like it- it frees up the day so we aren't stuck inside all day. Chat Icon
