Time to Switch Nipples? (Bottle Feeding)
How did you know if it was time to change DCs nipples on bottles?
The brand I use recommends changing them at 3 months, and he is 2 months now. But the last few days he has been taking a long time to eat, falling asleep partway through, and/or getting mad about something and fighting with the nipple. As I write this I'm thinking, sounds like he needs new nipples!
But anyway, what signs did DC give you, if any?

DS just started doing those things and I switched. He seems more relaxed when he eats now.

Trust your instinct!! You're seeing the signs that he's ready - so that's the time to switch. Don't worry about what the package says! We switched Lily at 2 months because of the same signs. And she was thrilled! And ate much quicker!!

Thank you! We bought some of the new nipples, and I am sterilizing them now. I'll see if that makes a difference.
When I see him fighting with the nipple, all I can think is "I'm really glad that's not mine!" It looks rough.

I am no help b/c Troy was 6 months when we upgraded to the fast flow nipples. I did replace them about every 2 months until that time (with the slow flow) b/c we use latex.

go with your gut, if you think it's time to switch, then try it. Worst case scenario, it's not time to switch and you put the other nipple back on.

It can't hurt to try the new ones, just keep the old ones just in case!
