tippy toe walking
My DD has just started doing this on and off. Most of the time, she walks flat footed, but once in a while, she will go on her toes. The dr said that many children do this. As long as she hasn't always done this since the time she took her first step. That could indicate cerebral palsey?????? I've also done some research on the link to autism as well. There's no warning signs whatsoever, but I don't know how to correct her walking. She's too young to understand me if I tell her to walk with her feet down. (16months.) Any advice? Thanks

My ped. said the same. DD walks on her toes, but not all the time. She said if it continues past 2, we'll talk. DS walks on his toesand always has and he is on the Autism spectrum.

Re: tippy toe walking
DD (17 mos.) does this every now and then, too. She definitely walks primarily flat footed, but she does go up on her toes once in a while. I'm rather sure it's normal.

Re: tippy toe walking
I was told tip toe walking is natural milestone in walking? My Ped just told us this recently. He does it once in a while.
I know my nephew did this for a while...till like 6 yrs old and the ped was just starting to get concerned and he stopped doing it.

Re: tippy toe walking
DD does this sometimes too. I'm not sure why but the doctors told me that it could indicate a sensory disorder. WEll, my ped said not to worry about it. but a developmental ped told me to see someone about it....

Re: tippy toe walking
Dd is 27 months & walks on her toes often. Ped isn't concerned. I did the same thing as a child.

Re: tippy toe walking
Both my boys do it, and one is on the spectrum and the other is not, so it is ok,
