tips for getting super-shiny hair?

I generally have pretty healthy hair (not chemically processed and I minimize using heat on it) but I don't really use anything fancy in it - just drugstore brand shampoo/conditioner and rarely any styling products.

I was walking in the city one day and saw a woman who looked like she stepped out of a pantene ad. Shiny healthy hair, no frizz, lots of body. It was on my way to work so it was probably too early for her to have left a hair appt Chat Icon

Can anyone recommend hair products or techniques? I usually just let my hair air-dry and smooth it out with a hot iron but lately I've been getting lots of fly-aways and the iron kills body

I use this:

Chi Silk Infusion

It's a hair oil, I put a tiny bit in my hair when it's still wet and let it air dry (I have curly hair and it still gets it pretty shiny).

and then if I have any flyaways I use this:

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine Finishing Creme

I actually find that the less I touch my hair, the shinier it stays. I do shake it out a little bit for volume but if I touch it it totally frizzes up.

I find my hair looks best when I let it air dry for a little while and then blow dry. I also use a hair serum. I use Garnier Fructis shampoo, conditioner and hair serum. I have fairly shiny hair.

Also, I do think a of it is how well you eat and how much rest you get. Healthy hair is a reflection of a healthy body...

My friend gets her hair "glossed" (I think that is how you say it lol) at the salon and it always looks so shiny!!!!!!

My hair is TOO shiny...it is black and VERY SHINY...by the night time it looks a little greasy lol

MoraccanOil (one word)

Use a pea-size amount to damp hair, blow dry. The shiny-ness is amazing!!! And it smells really good too.

I just started using this about 2 weeks ago and it's amazing. I would highly recommend it.

And (like another poster said) a natural boar bristle brush works well too. It distributes your natural oils down your hair shaft.
