TMI ?--Does Anyone Have this Problem?
This is very TMI--not sure if everyone will want to continue reading.
Okay, I don't know what to do about this and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Over the last couple weeks, I have been getting these sore, raw patches of skin, right where my underwear meet my crotch area. I've tried putting vaseline and antibiotic ointment on the patches, but they don't really go away.
I thought I needed bigger underwear, but that doesn't seem to have done the trick. I can't really get bandaids in that spot. I'm could go "natural" for awhile, but that seems a bit gross to me personally.
The only thing that seems to help is not moving around much at all.
Anyone else experience this? Any idea what I could do? it's very strange.

BEsides getting bigger underwear, did you try maternity undies?
I found the ones from Gap maternity are by far the most comfy. They have SO much stretch in them. I am not crazy about the ones from Motherhood.
Good luck and feel better

Honestly, I would switch underwear. Maybe the band has too much rubber in it, I know I can't wear ones that don't have a covered band because I am allergic. Maybe the cut is wrong too, With your belly growing, maybe you should switch to a fuller cut? HTH

Hmmm, maybe it is the band. That's exactly the area that's bothering me. I've never had problems with it before, but maybe because of my size?
I guess I could try granny panties--the last ones I got were bikinis, or maternity underwear.
DH thinks this is all mildly amusing. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's just darn uncomfortable to walk sometimes!
Thanks for your replies!

If it is not the waistband try switching to a color free and fragrance free detergant and don't use fabric softener. I get skin irritations from detergants and it has gotten worse since getting pregnant.

Maybe seamless underwear would help. I know I have a few pair of those and you dont even really feel them touching that area at all....good luck!

Same here, I get a reaction to the bands. That has gotten much worse in pregnancy, but from my bra. We can use cortisone cream in moderation and I had to do that for a few days. I did switch bras to one with a really thick covering over the elastic. I still do best not wearing one at all!

It could also be a fungal infection-buy one of those yeast infection kits and use the cream from it. that might help and probably can't hurt.
