TMI -- how do I get vomit smell out of my backseat?
Two hours into our 4-hour ride home from my folks' house today, Jack got carsick and to quote him, "threw out the mouth"....PROFUSELY.
So gross. I was in the backseat with them feeding Gabe a bottle and the vomit was everywhere -- even in the luggage sitting on the floor of the backseat.
We've taken apart the car seat, washed the covers, liner, and straps plus scrubbed down the hard shell of the seat so I'm not too worried about that.
How on earth do I get that smell out of my truck, though? DH wants to take it to a detailer/car wash, and MIL says I should rent a steamer from King Kullen...anybody have advice on how to do this?
TIA --

first a foremost, if its safe, leave all the windows down tonight and let the car air-out. Then, I would take it to the carwash tomorrow. If you washed everything down, I think that should do the trick.
FYI, not throwup, but I once bought a big back of frozen chicken from Sam's Club. Well, forgot to bring it in the house. This was in the heat of June (a month or so ago). Then it was the weekend and we use DH's car, so Monday morning, go to work with the delightful aroma of raw bad chicken. YUCK, let it air out for 3 days, sprayed febreeze, then carwash. It did the trick.

Do you mean just the regular carwash, where the guys vacuum and clean out the backseats before the exterior is washed? Or do you mean an upholstery car wash?

just regular car wash. Trust me, airing out the car on a nice cool night like tonight will work wonders!!

Unfortunately we have a pushy fox AND a pretty agile raccoon family in our cul de sac -- I'm afraid if I leave the windows all the way down i'll get visitors in there overnight. All four windows are down, but not all the way down for enough air to circulate...I really hope this little bit helps!
