TMI question about 3rd trimester preggo symptoms
I went on my last business trip (3 days in bethesda MD) last wed. I didn't drink enough during the drive down on wed and got temporarily constipated... Thurs night, when that went away, it was followed by some diahrea (but this is common for me when I recover from constipation).
well, since friday, at least once a day, I have diahrea I don't know if it was some food I ate (nothing was BAD.... but maybe something I ate at all of those restaurants was unknowingly not preggo-friendly? )
my question is this:
Scone is getting big (I'm 31 weeks)... I'm starting to feel my lower belly muscles straining to hold him up during the day (a dull horizontal pain across the bikini line when I stand). I'm wondering if his size/weight is causing my uterus to press against my intestines causing my digestive distress, or whether it is due to something I ate / possible infection? Or could it be from the stress of driving to MD and back within 3 days + a busy conference?
I should add that I have no loss in appetite, no fever, no unusual fatigue..... this is the only symptom...
I likely will call my Dr tomorrow AM... just becuase my next appt is fairly far away (Fri).....
what do you think?
TIA!

Re: TMI question about 3rd trimester preggo symptoms
I'm not in my 3rd trimester, and this is only my first pregnancy, however, as a rule, whenever I eat out a lot, my digestive system seems to be "off" a bit and I get the symptoms you describe. I think it's just the food at many restaurants. Some of it's too rich, way too much or just not great quality. Call your doctor though for peace of mind!

Re: TMI question about 3rd trimester preggo symptoms
I am 31 weeks as well and feeling the exact same thing is very low and I feel like she is compressing all of my bowels and bladder. its quite possible this could be the issue...but I also have IBS, so despite not eating anything that would hurt me, it could be that too. I would say, that as long as its not painful and you are staying hydrated you and baby are ok...def ask the dr to be on the safe side!

Re: TMI question about 3rd trimester preggo symptoms
I get the same thing. As the baby grows it compresses ALL of your organs and functions including your intestines from the back and the bladder in the front. If you feel better about seeing your doctor for peace of mind, then by all means go.

Re: TMI question about 3rd trimester preggo symptoms
I feel better knowing that some of you have similar experiences.... thanks....
I think I'll just call them and give them the FYI. My only concern with this is dehydration... it's hard to stay hydrated in this heat, and this situation is NOT helping!
