TMI question about baby girl
DD (2 weeks old) has lots of white stuff in her "parts". I remember in my childbearing class they said not to "dig" to clean it out and that is natural lubrication. But, it just looks really gross in there...it doesn't come out easily b/c I have tried to clean it out....I would leave it but it just doesn't seem sanitary.
What should I do? Leave it alone or get it out?

Re: TMI question about baby girl
If it doesn't come off with normal wiping, I would leave it. DD had that too, but eventually it gets to where you can easily wipe it off.

Re: TMI question about baby girl
What do you mean by "stuff"? I brought my DD to the ER when she was 5 days old because I thought a vein was hanging out down there...it turned out to be her PERIOD . It was a blood clot of some sort...totally normal. I was afraid to wipe it because I really thought it was part of her insides coming out. They say that from mommy's hormones that sometimes happens and it's totally normal.

Re: TMI question about baby girl
Oh okay. That's normal too. I would just wipe the surface and just give her a rinse during baths and put some desitin there after wiping so it doesn't get irritated.

Re: TMI question about baby girl
DD had that also, alot of it, it would get hard to clean and dry there. Her pediatrician told me to put A&D on it to loosen it and then clean as much as possible with a wipe or washcloth but not to irritate her. The A&D loosens it alot.
