Re: TMI warning: question for those that had vaginal delivery
The stitches were more uncomfortable than anything else for me. I remember squirming as they were doing it but i was more preoccupied looking ariund the room for DS and what they were doing to him.

Re: TMI warning: question for those that had vaginal delivery
I may be one of the few- i didn't feel anything. I had an epidural & episiotomy (sp??) and while I felt allllllllll of the labor (they turned the epi down so I could push better) i actually did not feel her cut or sew me. After having a 9lb 3oz baby, you really don't care what anyone does to you down there. It all feels fabulous after the baby comes out

Wow. I'm surprised to read these comments. I got lucky... My epidural was perfect. I felt nothing... Nothing at delivery...I'd push when I barely felt some pressure. Certainly did not feel the stitching both times... Felt the after effects the first time.

I had an epi, but still felt the stitching. It hurt. I had a 2nd degree tear though and the numbing didn't kick in fast enough where she needed to stitch.

Re: TMI warning: question for those that had vaginal delivery
I agree that the stiches hurt more than pushing my child out. I did have an epi, but i still felt a lot. I was too distracted worrying about my DS who had to be taken to the NICU, so even though it hurt like heck, i wasn't paying too much attention to what was going on with me, and more so on my son.

Re: TMI warning: question for those that had vaginal delivery
With DS1 they had topped off my epi before I pushed so I didn't feel it at all.
With DS2 I didn't get another epi close to pushing so I did feel the tugging more but nothing too bad.
Healing after DS2 I felt the stitches way more than I did healing with DS1.

Re: TMI warning: question for those that had vaginal delivery
Whoah, you guys are scaring the crap out of me lol!
I had a c-section with DS and a very painful recovery afterwards. I've been looking forward to trying for the VBAC this time, but all this stuff about the epi wearing off by the time you push (I've heard this before!) and feeling all the stitches? No thanks! I def have to speak to my OB about this.
