To everyone that knows the city...
where can we eat in Times Square (or close) that is reasonable and good? We have a party of 15 - 8 adults and 7 children. I aready called Carmine's, but they wanted $53.00 per person (even the kids) without drinks, tax and gratuity. That would be fine for the adults, but we are not spending $53 on a bunch of 5, 6 and 7 year olds.

you could try Mars2112, b/c it is kid friendly...but it's not a 5 star restaurant either.
honestly, nothing in Times Square is really 'good" more touristy and kitsch...

Re: To everyone that knows the city...
Langan's maybe? I think it's on 48th. They have a good three course pre-theater menu- last time I was there I think it was $25.95 a person, or similar. You can also do a la carte, which would be better for the little ones.

They're SUPER expensive...plates run on average $20+
ETA: I would recm'd a chain food restaurant, as they would be apt to seating 10+ parties.

I love John's Pizzeria too. Another alternative is Tony DiNapoli's. It is family style Italian, but cheaper and easier to get into than Carmine's.

I had a very bad experinece at the Red Lobster in Times Square. Bad service, we waited 1 hour to be seated WITH A RESERVATION, waited another hour for our food, when the food came it was WRONG. And NO consideration or compensation for our wait. (I would have walked out but we were there for a birthday)

Another vote for John's. It's simple, reasonable, surprisingly good, nice atmosphere and right there! When we see a show with my sister's kids, we usually eat there or Carmine's.

Tony's Di Napoli around 43rd and 6th or 7th...I like it better than Carmines, but it is the same thing - Family style Italian.

Are you sure they said $53 per PERSON? Carmine's serves family style, so maybe a plate might be $53, but it serves several people....

Re: To everyone that knows the city...
I'd go with Virgils bbq - it's enormous and can accommodate large parties. Burgers, wings, ribs, fried chicken type stuff. I think they have a kids menu.
44th between b-way and 6th
