To make those scared of the "poop" feel better
I know this gets brought up alot and for the newbies I figured I would share my experience.
With my daughter I pushed for an hour, and i Know I didn't push completely the right way because I was scared of going on the table. It took forever and hurt a whole lot. But I was "happy" I escaped an embarrassing moment.
With my son, everything came on very quickly. I told myself I was going to push the right way and get him out. It took 2 good pushes and that was it. Yes, I did go a bit on the table, but the nurses cleaned it up so quick and told me that 1) YOu can't prevent it and 2) That's why he came out so quick.
So when you do get into the L&D room forget being scared of pooping and just get that baby out!!!

Glad you posted this! Not that I will have to ever push since I will be having a scheduled c-section, but its great for other mommies to be to know!

I pushed the right way and I didn't go on the table nor was I thinking about it either! Just go in there and push your baby out, don't worry about it!!!

Re: To make those scared of the "poop" feel better
when I was ready to push I kept telling the nurse "I feel like I am going to poop" and she just told me "you wont it is the baby's head"... so anyways, if I did or didnt I dont really care cause he came out very quickly as well I asked my husband later but he said he didnt see anything and he watched it all! so no reason to fear!

This is my biggest fear, but I guess they've seen everything!!
DH will be right by my head. I don't want him down there seeing that mess.

I absolutely agree. I pushed eight times with DS, for a total of about 5 minutes and he came out. I did go on the table, but they cleaned it super fast.

I kept telling myself....I'm sure they've seen worse!
I asked my nurse how often that happens and she it's very common but they keep it so discreet.....

Re: To make those scared of the "poop" feel better
Until I read it here I never even thought about that happening when I gave birth years ago! No one ever even talked about it. One less thing for me to have to worry about , which was a good thing
