To replace a chandelier....do you need an electrician?
We jsut got a new one...It will go where the old one is...Should we try ourselves or leave it to a professional???

It's actually pretty simple to do. If your DH feels confident that he can do it, it's worth a try.

DH did ours & he had to change the plate & everything & he reran the wires & did the switch...it wasn't a big deal
ETA: he preferred to do it w/ the circuit still on...he said its more exciting that way

It is REALLY easy to do (not just from an expert opinion). I was helping my dad years before I was an electrician. Just make sure the light switch is off. If you have a tester, you can always double check with that to make sure it isn't being powered from any place else.

I would turn off the circuit breaker or take out the fuse if fuses. Then after that, it is fairly easy to do.
