To Save Money, What Would You Buy Off Craigslist For DC?
Just wondering what would you or won't you buy off Craiglist for DC? You can state your reason too.
ie.
Won't buy: Mattress
Would buy: Stroller

Re: To Save Money, What Would You Buy Off Craigslist For DC?
Won't Buy: Anything that cannot be cleaned properly by me, like you said mattress, bean bag chairs and such. I wouldn't buy a comforter set or pillows either. Anything that bodily fluids can remain on I would never buy (Unless it was an awesome PB quilt in perfect condition that was dirt cheap so I could easily dry clean and still have a great bargain)
Will buy: Anything else - if it can be taken apart and cleaned, powerwashed, hosed down, scrubbed, beached, etc., I am fine with it.

I'm on the same wavelength with you ladies.... if i can take it apart and make sure that it's been completely wiped down/sprayed with bleach, and cleaned properly.... then I would DEF buy it.
If not... it stays on CL!

I bought:
- Ale's Bedding - Ale's Dresser - Ale's Exersaucer - Ale's Rocking Doggie
I've bought formula and clothes off Ebay and from Once Upon a Child.
And I am sure various other items.
Yesterday I got her a kitchen -- someone was throwing it out. I rang the bell, and asked if I could take it. Perfect condition. DH will power wash, I will then use Clorox.
PS - I do it more to save the environment than to save $$...less going into the landfills.

Thanks ladies. Totally make sense about buying just what you can wash or take apart to thoroughly clean...
I would probably add any items that are too outdated and don't meet current safety standards. Ie. a very old crib or infant car seat.

Oh I change my answer, I would NEVER buy any type of carseat.
You don't know where it has been or if it has been in an accident!
