Today was not a good day-I may be admitted to the hospital-UPDATE 2/9
I havent been able to keep anything down since last night (at least before I was just nauseous and could keep a little broth down) and my doc has me on oral Reglan since Monday. Today he gave me Zofran and I have to take it every 8 hrs. Ladies if this does not work he said-he "WILL" admit me to the hospital this weekend.
I've been through this before so I know what its like-NOT FUn and not FAIR.
P.S sorry to alway vent here
UPDATE: So The Zofran is helping with my nausea-not chucking but I still feel nauseous I have another issue that is making it worse-I have an H Pylori infection-its a nasty bacteria in my tummy and its what is making my M/S worse-sad news is they cant treat it now as it requires unsafe levels of antibiotics. I wont die but it will make this pregnancy even more complicated as I get bigger so I will be working with my OB and my Gastroenterologist. Heartburn hell here I come lol

Today we tried tea, water and ginger ale-they stayed for a little until my stomach realized and they were history. Ice chips have been working but they have no nutrition.

So sorry. you know I sympathize!
ETA- I still have a hard time with Water. I manage a LOT of gingerale, and tea and sometimes coffee, but cold water does me in
Also, di dyou try any cheese? There were these interestings studies that hypermesis patients were all able to tolerate grilled cheese....no joke.
And me and katedevine were talking about how its the one thing that most of the time, we can always keep down.

Re: Today was not a good day-I may be admitted to the hospital
Good luck - I was in the same boat as you - could not keep ANY liquid down - forget about food - and if the Zofran didn't work immediately I would have had to go to the hospital. Luckily, the Zofran worked as soon as I took it - maybe it'll go that way for you too.....

My doc mentioned Byperemesis patients can tolerate grilled cheese sandwiches-maybe I'll try that.
Today I havent thrown up BUT I am still nauseous and we found out I am not digesting my food. SO I get to see my Gastroenterologist. Hopefully he can ease my tummy

No joke, I am eating a grilled cheese and drinking a ginger ale right now.
Good luck
ETA: I also agree that cold water did me in. Once it got really bad, my doctor told me to drink what I can keep down, soda, gatorade, milk, any liquid to try and keep you hydrated. Some people say milkshakes help. To get some nutrients I would actually drink a slimfast shake and I could keep those down too.
But honestly, try the grilled cheese, it may just work a little.
