Today's a better day...
I called the dr. first thing this morning and got the normal receptionist that's there. She and I spoke for a few mins and I told her how confused I am and she put me thru to the dr. that's in (the senior partner). He and I spoke and I shared my concerns about getting AF and not being able to come in for CD3 bloodwork/sono if my dr. is so backed up from being out for 3 weeks. He told me not to worry and that my dr. will be back on Saturday but that he would tell the receptionist to fit me on on Monday morning, which is hopefully what should be CD3 for me if AF arrives as planned after I finish the provera on Thursday. If I get her on Saturday then Monday will be CD3... So hopefully it'll all work out. I did find another person doing lupron/BCPs on a different message board that I'm on so I'm feeling better about that as well b/c I kind of know the protocol now. The only thing left to worry about is if I'll be able to get the lupron in time--- my new insurance company makes you order any injectibles thru their mail order company--- but hopefully if I bring the info my dr. and I can call all the info in at the office on Monday-- and I think they said it takes 3-5 days to do the paperwork an get the stuff... UGH why is nothing ever easy?

Re: Today's a better day...
Glad to hear you were able to explain the situation to the other doctor and get some reassurances. I know all of this is so frustrating, but hang in there!!

Well I'm glad you finally got some answers. Maybe you can get the script for the lupron now, if that is the plan?

Re: Today's a better day...
all my meds come via mail order, they will send it out for next day delivery. If I saw I needed a new Gonal pen for the next day, as long as I called it in by 6:00 pm, I'd have it the next day.

who do you use for your mail order? This is my Dh's plan and I have to use caremark for regular mail order but precision RX services for injectibles... I've been on the phone w/ both empire and precision RX for the last half hour and she just told me it could take 3-5 days to get my order... I told her that may not be an option come monday morning-- but I wouldn't know until then. I think it's b/c it's my first order thru them- although I did set up an account already to try to bypass some waiting time...

Re: Today's a better day...
I use Freedom Pharmacy. I'm surprised they say 3-5 days. Do they know it's for fertility meds? I normally useXxpress Scripts, but they give all their "specialty" meds to Freedom Pharmacy who deal only with fertlity drugs.

Yes, I told them it was for AI and IF... and it was very time sensitive. I am going to call the office this afternoon and see if the dr. in today can at least tell me if there are different doses or if he could order 1 vial for me to get started w/ f my dr agrees that we should go that route come monday morning-- at least then it could be ready and waiting to be mailed... and i could cancel the order if my dr says we shouldn't go that route... I just wish I could get thru to my dr.

Re: Today's a better day...
I use Freedom Pharmacy also and on the initial set up it did take a few days for Oxford to clear it. The pharmacy sends it out ASAP, but if they are waiting for clearance from insurance that would be the hold up. Good luck, get on their case. I've noticed in life that people can really do the impossible if they want to. So, again keep on them.
Besides we're all here to make miracles happen!

Re: Today's a better day...
I called the office this afternoon and got the head nurse on the phone. She seemed to say that I would be starting BCPs and lupron on CD3- which would be Monday She said I should call the dr that's in this week to confirm everything w/ him and ask him if he'll call in a prescription for at least the lupron to the mail order co--- which is the only thing I want him to do ASAP anyway. So now I'll sleep a little better tonight... until I have to get up mega early to drive an hour to drop my parents off at the airport and then rush back to take care of my grandma-- all before the office opens at 7:30...
