Today's NON TTC Topic - 10/1
Okay - it's October, time of ghosts, halloween, mosters, etc...
Do you like horror or suspense movies?
Why or why not?

For me - it depends. There are a genre of movies dave & I call mindf*ck movies. I cannot watch these...they are the ones that mess with your head and creep you out in a true and real way. The creepy kids in the corner who all of a sudden aren't there, that type of thing. I can't do those because i will have night terrors & that's not good for ANYONE.
Flat out monster movies - i can do those - because I don't fully believe in that stuff...
Suspense - sure - i can do those too. I just can't do them before bed - like we'll have to watch something AFTER. I can't go to bed feeling too nervous/anxious or the night terrors will be an issue again.

I even can watch them by myself in the dark.  I always scare the $hit outta myself,too

I am not a big fan of horror movies! I tend to be a wimp as well! I don't like to be scared.
I do like a good suspense movie. Like one that keeps me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen!

i should edit to say that dave LOVES horror movies...
he'll go to see them himself at the movies and puts them on netflix to watch on his days' off - when i'm not home!

I hate them all. I especially hate previews for scary movies that come on at night when I am watching TV. I have to change the channel or I freak myself out.

I love the suspense type movies! The kind that involve the paranormal, ghosts, etc...
I hate horror type movies. They make me sick too much blood and violence scares the hell out of me.

I don't mind monster movies, but movies like Saw where it is a person doing "the horror" freaks the life out of me!! I do love suspense though!
We went to see the movie The Strangers with Liv Tyler, I covered my face the entire time, but I agreed to go.

ya see - for me - Saw - i LOVED...i watched all of them - because i got soooo into them.
i liked the whole, 'plot' behind it...
the strangers - NEVER EVER...that is the type of movie i'm talking about - total mindf**k movie...

I can go either way with horror flicks. My husband is a HUGE fan so I normally get dragged to see movies I would never consider seeing in the theater. I am not a fan of some of the gore a la Texas Chainsaw Massacre or stupid silly such as The Strangers.

Monster movies don't bother me in the slightest. I laughed while watching The Ring in the theater.
I love suspense and ghost type movies. The Exorcist is one of my favorites!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE 70's and 80's B-horror films, those are my favorites.
I HATE slasher movies, where it is not scary, just gory. I don't watch those. They are pointless to me.

First off, I have to admit I am scared of everything. I cannot watch any horror or suspense. I still can't watch "Nightmare on Elm Street" (I know you're laughing), and I barely made it through "300". What is strange is that I can watch surgeries and autopsies. I'm weird!

I'm not into suspense movies really, but I do love a horror... not bloody serial killer horror... I guess scary would be a better word.
I have yet to find a movie that can truely scare the crap out of me. I love real life ghost stories and things like that.
If anyone knows of a movie like that let me know!!!!
