Toddler bed

When is it appropriate to move a child into a toddler bed?

I was just looking for somethign on line and saw a very cute one. Here it is if you would like to see, it won't let me post the picture...cute toddler bed

I guess it should be for a relatively older child who will not fall of the bed, even though it does have a litel railing.

i am just trying to figure out how things will work with the beds situation when the new baby gets here...

I cant see the link but Im assuming its a half rail bed. My daughter was 21 months when she went into a toddler bed. It has a half rail and I used a removable side rail that compacts to fill the extra half so it was like she had a full rail. In fact, tonight is her first night without the extra rail, she is 27 months now. But both my older kids were about 21-22 months when we changed over. They both climbed out at an early age and we needed the crib anyway.
