toddler boy's room?
We are painting my DS's new room. I wanted to go with a beige and then do a nautical theme with all red, white and navy decorations/bedding...
but DH is completely against painting the room beige. He wants a lighter color since DS is a kid.
SOOO he is suggesting doing the top half of the wall in a light beige (BM Lambskin) and the bottom of the wall a blue (maybe BM Calming Space), with a white chair rail.
Anyone do anythign like this or have any pictures of anything like this? I'm not sure I'm sold on this idea....
TIA!!!

Re: toddler boy's room?
I didn't think I'd find a pic of it on google. I looked and looked and was surprised when i saw something that sounded similar- not sure if exact shades though:
I personally think painting it beige would be easier but it looks fine with two colors too:

Re: toddler boy's room?
We are doing a similar design in DS big boy room when we move to our new house (so no pics yet). Instead of nautical theme we are doing airplane accessories. We are putting a chair rail and doing the bottom half of the wall a darker blue and the top will either be adobe beige (BM) or a light greyish blue. We got the Pottery Barn Kids Madras bedding and a tan rug, navy blue window treatments. I got some vintage airplane wall art and will be hanging some model planes from the ceiling as well. If you can wait a month I should have pics then!
ETA: my son's nursery in this house is shades of blue and nautical themed. Pics here: Nursery Album I am actually considering painting his big boy room the same colors if we don't go with tan on top because I love them so much!

Re: toddler boy's room?
We did DS in a classic americana theme, different theme, same color scheme though. We did a tan, with red and navy stripes.
Its not as dark as it looks in these pictures.

Re: toddler boy's room?
We did something like that in my DS's room. The blue color is BM Lake Placid, and I can't recall the beige color, but it is also BM. Sorry the lighting isn't so great in the pic. Hope you can see it.
ETA: I give up. I tried 1517241 times to post the pic but it keeps telling me it's too big. I'll put the picture in an album for you.

Re: toddler boy's room?
My DS's nursery is nautical. I have a light blue on top and wainscotting(white) on the bottom. When we make it into a big boy room we are keeping the white wainscotting(which is soooo perfect in a nautical room) and bringing the blue on top a little deeper.

I went to the top of the screen to "Community." I found your photo album. I opened to your picture. I right clicked your picture. I went to properties. I highlighted and copied the address (it should be a .jpg file). Then came back here and hit "Insert Web Image" and viola...done....after you do it a while it wont seem so complicated

Re: toddler boy's room?
Thanks soo much everybody!!!!!!!!!!!! The pics really helped.
I think we were going to do beige on top and blue on the bottom, but now after looking at the pics i think the reverse might be better.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
