Toddler Daycare Kids
Or just any toddlers around 16 months old...
what do you pack your child for daycare?
Mason is sooo picky and still loves the baby jarred food, but I HAVE to get him off it. At home he's bad at trying any table food. Sometimes I have to force him to take a tiny bit. Sometimes he'll like it and most of the times it's on the floor Other than that he's a sooo good.
I also know he eats better at daycare so instead of packing him the usual... cereal, yogurt and some babyfood stuff I want to bring in some good table food.
Hopefully he'll enjoy it there and then start eating better at home. Any suggestions what to pack him? He's there for breakfast and lunch and he does have pretzels, puffs and some other stuff for snacks
Thanks!

Re: Toddler Daycare Kids
DD gets a fruit (usually banana) and yogurt for breakfast. They also provide the bagels, french toast, pancakes, waffles etc so she gets that there as well.
For lunch it's usually something like this AND a fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, peaches, etc.)
Bowl of soup
Mashed potatoes with broccoli, cheese and milk with diced chicken
Two potato perogies
Rolled up turkey and cheese with a slice of bread
2-3 Chicken nuggets with diced steamed sweet potatoes
Tortellini cut up in chicken broth
Once in a while I'll send some mac n cheese with cut up broccoli (she loves when I do)
Swedish meatballs and pinwheels pasta with gravy
A lot of time I'll just give her some of our leftover dinner. Like if we had roasted potatoes and chicken, I'll send her in what some for lunch.
Her teacher also always lets her try the school lunch. Sometimes she likes it, sometimes she doesn't.

Re: Toddler Daycare Kids
DS is only 13 months - but is getting picky. I'm so sad he won't eat pasta. But, I send him with maybe some scrambled eggs (lateley I've been putting carrots and cheese in it- just to get some veggies in him) cut up waffles or pancakes, chicken or fish nuggets and always some type of cut fruit or veggie (like sweet potato fries - he usually loves those.) And recently we just started peanut butter so I'll put that on a whole grain flat bread and cut it up. He loves it.
I find that sometimes he won't eat something at home but will gobble it up at daycare. I try to send a lot of different things though in case he doesn't like something.

Re: Toddler Daycare Kids
I send Anthony to the sitter with a yogurt and pancakes and either a banana or an apple.
The sitter feeds him lunch so i dont need to send that and she also gives him snacks..
he loves his yogurt..
