Toddler DS + Daddy... how did you stop the MELTDOWN when dada goes to work?
I *think* our little peanut is now wise to Daddy's early am departures - and is playing "beat the clock" at 5am every morning, waking just as DH does and starts getting ready for work. And throwing a f'n WOBBLER of course when DH leaves :(
Any of you successfully break this? I try calming him, distracting him, whatever, nothing works, it literally goes on for over an hour but what a lousy way to start the day.
Tips, advice??? Should DH just quit ?

We have been through this too for a very long time. I don't think there is any way to break it. It just dissipates with maturity - or at least it did with Cailen.
It's how they feel - they are sad when a parent leaves, and tantrumming is just how they express it. Sometimes, tantrums are unavoidable, and justified in situations like this.
I can relate - it is a sucky way to begin the day

Is it too early for him to eat some breakfast then? I don't know...I'm thinking if there's a way to distract him but 5am is early

Uggh. Thanks
Seema food, when offered, is usually thrown across the room and accompanied by a mega-decibel screaming fit. When ds is mid-tantrum he HAAAATES being distracted from it God help me.
