Toddler girl fashion question- do you put socks on DD with leggings?
Ok so leggings are everywhere for these little girls and I love them and think they're super cute so I got some for Ellie. I also have mary janes for her to wear since she's walking now and sneakers. Here's my question. I went to dress her a couple of days ago in a long tee and the leggings to go play outside but was clueless on how to put a shoe with it. If she wears a sneaker then I need a sock which I thought would look weird but then I realized even with the mary jane still needs a sock doesn't it? And the only reason that was an issue is b/c it was still warm out. I didn't feel like I could put her summer sandals on with it b/c it was a polka dotted kind cooler/edgier outfit and she only has very cutesy very traditional white sandals. Such a a silly thing but I'm curious what you all do. This is the kind of person I am, my shoes have to go with my outfit so I can already see I'm in trouble with a little girl. 
Bottom line curious question is do you always put socks on them with mary janes/t-straps or do you think they'll be comfortable enough w/o them?

I can't believe that this fashion has come full circle. My oldest daughter wore leggings when she was a little girl. I always put socks on her and folded them down. If she was wearing something that was fancier, the socks were thinner. I love the leggings look.

I can't believe that this fashion has come full circle. My oldest daughter wore leggings when she was a little girl. I always put socks on her and folded them down. If she was wearing something that was fancier, the socks were thinner. I love the leggings look.
i do the same thing with dd

I don't put socks on Julia with leggings it looks to bulky, JMO. I like the way they look better with just the leggings.

No, the leggins and stockings that I buy always have the feet on them, I never saw leggings with out the feet for toddlers. All of Julia dance leggings have feet on them. Even if they dont I still think it would look silly to have socks on with tight leggings, but thats JMO. The OP agreed with me that they would look to bulky together, so maybe she knew what I ment.

I'm still confused. Are leggings thicker than say cable knit tights?
Emma has leggings that are tight at the ankle that don't have feet. I probably wouldn't put socks on with them because they would look bulky. I don't think the OP was talking about leggings that cover the feet since she was concerned about bare feet in the shoes.

I don't know.....Julia has leggings and they are thin but have feet, stockings are thicker but still have feet to them. I never put Julia in a stocking/tights with out feet in the summer, they just look to hot, so I thought she was talking about the original leggings with the feet. Thats why I thought it would look silly to have socks on with them. No biggie!

I put socks on with leggings. To me, leggings are like skinny yoga pants, with no feet. They come to the ankle. I just bought DD a few pairs... Here's an example of them..

I'm asking about leggings not tights. Tights would be fine with shoes, but leggings w/o feet are what's puzzling me.

Thanks Trish. That's what I'm talking about. For me, if I wear leggings I wear them with flats like in that picture but I'm not sure if that's an option for DD b/c of the kind of shoes that they make for babies.

I have a few pairs of leggins for Marron. I will put a thin sock underneath. If you think it is too bulky, maybe you could put a pair of tights underneath.

Yes socks but I would try to find some low profile non bulky socks so you don't have all this bulk over or under the legging.
