toddler meals
for your 1 and 2 yo. do you feed them what you eat at night ? are you still feeding baby food? my dd will eat the fruit and i can get the veggies down with some fiight (baby food) but she is not liking the meats and meals in the jars and wanting more and more table food. She was fine with it until I went to the ped. and she asked me if she started refusing baby food..i said no..and a day later...what do ya know!! I give her what we eat sometimes but i was wondering if you cook seperately.

Re: toddler meals
Once they stopped having jarred food, I never made them special meals. Certain foods I held out on giving until they got a bit older but they always ate what we ate. I stopped with jarred around 10 or 11 months with all of them, once they had some teeth and I felt like they could chew, we started weaning. I think in most cases, when they get a taste of real food, they are pretty much done with jarred food. Ugh! Who in their right mind, even a small child would want the jarred meat? Nasty! I can understand the fruits and veggies but the meat and even the toddler meat sticks *insert barf emoticon here* Just cut everything up very small. I started giving chicken before I went onto other meats since it was easier to feed them small pieces and required less chewing.

Re: toddler meals
Pasta. My son likes pasta, he will also eat Risotto, filled pasta, fish fingers, beans on toast, pasta froma tin (horrible mother, I know, but he loves it) Cheese on toast, cheesy beans, pasta, chicken (he loves chicken) last night he had half a piece of toast with cream cheese and some juice.
I usually have some stuff in the freezer for him, but I do cook pasta for him regularly. Sometimes he doesn't eat dinner at all because they feed him so well at daycare..

Re: toddler meals
DD hasn't had baby food since she could eat finger foods (around 11 months) She is a very independent kid and at times its very frustrating. She usually eats whatever we eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unless she doesn't eat much, then occasionally I will make her something special.
