Toddler nervous habits
DD is almost 21 months old and lately she has been doing this thing where she hangs her tongue out of her mouth in certain situations. For example, if we are out and about and a stranger tries to talk to her she will sort of smirk and at the same time stick her tongue out and down. She seems to be doing it a lot more and even when I try to take a picture of her and ask her to say cheese ( something she usually was a pro at) , now she does the tongue thing. I know it's not a big deal but I don't want people thinking that she is sticking her tongue out at them and being rude. I gently tell her to put her tongue in her mouth and she does, but I'm hoping this doesn't become a long lasting habit. Anyone have any experience or insight they can share about this behavior ?

Re: Toddler nervous habits
My toddler doesn't stick her tongue out but she puts her fingers in her mouth when she's nervous. Ill ask her to take them out and she does, but if she's in a situation she doesn't like or if someone random is talking to her, her fingers go right into her mouth. I had mentioned it to the Ped but wasn't concerned at all. I think it's something they just grow out of

Re: Toddler nervous habits
My DD gives people dirty evil looks, I actually laugh because her face totally transforms. She does this when shes shy, she puts her head down and rolls her eyes up. I always tell her that's not nice.
