Toddler recipe ideas (only eats Pasta/breaded chicken/bread)
DD LOVES her pasta. I cant tell you how many times I have made Baked ziti... dh getting tired of. But dd loves it. Im looking for other ideas on what I can make for dd... she wont eat anything else but breaded chicken, pasta and bread. Shes a carb lover like her mommie and daddie.
Sunday- I made meatballs and pasta (only ate the pasta) Tuesday- I made breaded chicken mixed with pasta with pesto sauce.. ate both. Tonight- Raviolis
Im trying to figure out ways I can sneak in vegs, cant do straight out b/c then she wont eat anything once the veg touches her lips (not even the pasta). I was thinking of pureeing the vegs and pouring into sauce... what else can I do and any other pasta ideas I can make for dd.
Thanks!

If she loves mac and cheese, I add cauliflower to mine. I didnt puree it but I did mash it up. My DS loved it and didnt even know he was eating veggies. He will eat pasta, rice and bread and all types of meat. NOTHING ELSE

My DS is bad with veggies too -- I give him spinach or broccoli raviolis.
Also, I add pureed veggies to the sauce on his pasta and I add them into mac and cheese.
He loves meatballs so I add veggies into turkey meatballs too.

I know it's not the greatest and we don't do it every night....but gerber puts out organic raviolis that are chicken and veggie, turkey and veggie, meat and tomato, spinach and cheese. He also loves their chicken and turkey stews and they are loaded with tons of veggies.
We also used to take whatever Jack wouldn't eat off his place and put it between 2 slices of bread and miraculously he had no issue eating it I've done that with butternut squash, meatloaf, shredded chicken, meatballs. HTH

DS hates veggies too. Sometimes i still give him the Gerber veggies b/c for some reason he will eat those. So buy those and give those to him with his meals. Also i buy these lipton noodles that he likes with brocolli. U can buy it in the grocery store.

Re: Toddler recipe ideas (only eats Pasta/breaded chicken/bread)
Lucas wants me to believe that he does not like veggies however his diaper gave away his secret..he eats them at daycare.
My new game plan...to be attempted this week is to make some healthy cupcakes (saw an article in Cookie that inspired this). I am going to try to make a frittata type cupcake for him with veggies. He does the happy dance when he hears cupcake (cup-a-cake to him) so I am hoping this works.

Never thought about the bread idea.. ill have to try that out.

I was going to try spaghetti squash with my son. Cut it in half and bake it and using a fork it will separate like spaghetti. Add some sauce and see how it goes. Worth a shot.

Re: Toddler recipe ideas (only eats Pasta/breaded chicken/bread)
make homemade pesto! it doesn't have to be all basil... it can have parsley... you can even sneak-in chopped spinach.
parsley and basil are incredibly healthy foods... so consider it a blessing that DC will eat that! (I bet freshly made is healthier than jarred, though... but pesto only take 5 min in the food processor to make, and when you make it yourself, you can add less oil )
here's my fav recipe: 2 bunches flat leaf parsley (or fresh basil) 2 garlic cloves 1 pack thawed/drained chopped spinach 1/3 cup pignolis 1/3 cup grated parmesan (not the green can stuff) evoo salt
put nuts in food processor. once powdery, add the parsley, then the rest of the ingredients. while the processor is running, add the evoo until it's the consistency you like.
you can also toss chicken breast into the pesto pasta...
you can also toss pasta in a light cream sauce with lemon zest with mushrooms and chicken.
So DC doesn't like any other starches? no mashed potatoes, no rice? I would guess risotto might be ok, since it's also saucy... and you can easily add veggies to risotto.....

The pesto sounds good but I didn't think you could give nuts yet.
