Toddlers & Parallel Play
What age approx do toddlers move onto group play versus parallel play? Just curious as DD is almost 18 mos and still plays alongside other children but not necessarily with them at daycare.

Around 2 years old- so 24 months
Just read this on babycenter so thought I would add it.
Tip: Keep your expectations about your baby or toddler's sociability low. Until your child is over 2 she'll mostly play side by side with other children. If you're hosting a play date, you can cut down on arguments by putting your child's favorite toys away (so she doesn't have to cope with seeing another child with her beloved doll, for instance) and making sure there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy
