Toddler's skin on face gets very red sometimes - allergy?
It's happened a few times now. My sons face will look completely normal, I'll go out of the room for a couple minutes, and then all of a sudden his face and neck are so flushed red, like a bad sunburn. He doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all. He seemed surprised when I was like "what happened to your face!?!?!" Hes only 2, so he wasnt able to answer my questions of " did you put something in your mouth or touch something yucky?" We dont have pets. He hadn't eaten anything unusual. It happened yesterday while he was eating pizza, but he's eaten pizza lots of times and never had a reaction. And the other times it happened he hadn't eaten pizza. Once it happened 1st thing in the morning and he hadn't eaten anything at all. Should I bring him to the doctor for allergy testing if he doesn't seem bothered by it at all, and it goes away after 30 minutes or so? It's just so weird to see because it seems to come out of nowhere!

Does he tend to run warm? My DS is always warm, prefers t-shirts in the house in the winter. Maybe the house is too warm, or he’s dressed too warm? Just a thought

We keep our house temp low/normal, and he wasn't overdressed, but he had just gotten out of the shower about 20 min. Prior to this latest episode, so maybe it was from the warm water? Just strange because when I was getting him dressed after the shower his skin seemed normal tone, and then like 20 min later it was all red and a little puffy. And then another 20 min. Later it was back to normal.

Just red doesn't sound like an allergy. An allergy would more likely result in hives.

This happens with sensitive skin in the winter months. Load up on the aquaphor especially when you go outside.
