Token gift for teacher for first day
Marron is starting Kindergarten this year and is SO excited. I was going to get a little token gift for the teacher from her. Which do you like better...a chocolate covered apple or an apple shaped post-it dispenser? I like them both. The downside to each: the post-it dispenser is that you have to refill it with the accordian style ones rather than the standard ones; the chocolate is that once its eaten, it's gone.

As a teacher, both sound great, but if I had to choose, I'd say the post-it notes.

I'm a teacher too and I say the post-its also. Post its really come in handy throughout the year and then she'll have something to remember your DD.

DH is a special ed teacher and has a rule that he throws out all edible gifts that he receives...

guess I am in the minority here but I vote for the apple. Just the thought of a chocolate covered apple after a long day at school has my mouth watering!  Plus as much as any gift is appreciated, having taught for 14 years, I have tons of little decorations etc. on my desk. I feel guilty getting rid of anything but have no space for anything else.

Yes i do this as well unless I know where it is from and trust it, but this is rare.
I think any kind of desk gift, teacher type
Item or teacher ornament goes over well

Post its, but as a teacher, I think that both gifts are EXTREMELY thoughtful and I would truly be appreciative for a token gift. That would really warm my heart

I say the Apple Post-It Dispenser...
but can you send me the chocolate covered apple - because that just sounds sooooo yummy!!!

sweet! don't do edible. teachers don't usually eat things that come from students' houses esp. when they don't know the family well.
