Tolls Question, I am heading to Dorney park

is there away to find out the cost of tolls before I leave?

If so can you help me find that site!

I am trying to make sure I have enough cash with me with the least amount of hassle of getting change and what not.

Also has anyone used mapquest and clicked on "Avoid Toll roads" and it was really toll free?

if you have EZpass the tolls are always cheaper than with cash.

i can only assume that avoiding toll roads would make your trip much longer which would mean more money on gas and mileage on your car. i can't imagine being able to travel to PA and not pay tolls. just getting off LI is almost $10 on the verazzano which is i think the most direct route toward PA. then you have the outerbridge or goethals which cost $.

do you have AAA? stop down there or call them and see what info they can give you.

No ez pass as because I NEVER travel off the Island. Boring I know, Just not worth it for me.

As for the trip time , it only added about 20 min. that is why i was considering it.
Calling AAA might really help. Thank you for the idea!Chat Icon Chat Icon

MTA and the other road agencies list the toll amounts on their websites. I'd start there once you know the route.

I agree with this. I don't know how you wouldn't pay tolls getting to PAChat Icon

I know the Verazzano is $10 (pay it heading there) the Goethals and Outerbridge are $8 now, but you pay those heading back to NY.

Plus once you are in Jersey, the Turnpike has tolls as does the Garden State...

Honestly, I'd bring at least $75 for tolls and if you have cash leftover, great.

Re: Tolls Question, I am heading to Dorney park

We went to Sesame in PA recently and I spent less than $30 in tolls. The turnpike was like $3.75 each way and another toll road was .75. We went to Dorney last year and the tolls weren't much more than going to Sesame.

I heard on the radio the bridges are going up tomorrow though.

Here is some info to help:

NY/NJ Port Authority

For this link, know the exits you will be entering the PA turnpike and exiting and it will give the exact amount using the Toll Collector.
PA Turnpike

And lastly, the MTA Bridges & tolls

Re: Tolls Question, I am heading to Dorney park

Thanks guys for all your help. It turns out after all this hassle of trying to figure out tolls my mom left her EZPASS home so I am picking it up in the morning. Thanks again!Chat Icon
