tonights doc appt and a question
went back to the doc and still have no answer... did a sono didnt see anything... he took blood to see the beta number he said if it went up it means i have an eptopic and need to go in tomorrow for an emergency shot so i am praying the numbers went down he also said he is going to do a thrombophilia panel which i understand is like 18 vials of blood but i will do anything it takes he then said if there is nothing wrong from that then we could have chromosone problem which made me totally freak out because i have no clue what that could be or mean .. does anyone have any info on chromosone problems i would like to look it up but i dont know where to start

Re: tonights doc appt and a question
Hi
My last miscarriage was a chromosome abnormality. Chromosome abnormalities are responsible for majority of miscarriages. It's sounds scarier than it is.
It's doesn't mean there is a chromosome issue between you & DH. It just means that something didn't match up correctly with that egg-sperm. It also doesn't mean it will happen again. These are all questions I asked my doctor because I freaked too.
My case it was an extra chromosome. Each parent provides 26 chromosomes for a total of 52. My baby had 3 copies of one of the chromosomes.
Here is something I found online for you. Try to stay away from the internet though. I scared the crap out of myself reading alot of info about chromosome miscarriages that didnt relate to me.
--------------->
Chromosome Defects
There are many factors that come in to play when the egg and sperm unite and form that first cell. Even if both the egg and sperm come with perfect chromosomes, the first few cell divisions can see an abnormality crop up that would certainly be devastating. Chromosome defects that cause a newly fertilized egg to die can account for as much as 60 percent of early miscarriages.
You can usually find out if you had a baby with a chromosome problem through testing tissue from the miscarriage. This must be done RIGHT AWAY when the tissue comes out or the cells cannot grow and the test won't work. If this is your first miscarriage, however, do not go to great lengths to save tissue. Very few doctors will test it, and a chromosomal cause for the miscarriage will be assumed without testing.
Even when you have a D&C and the doctor sends the tissue immediately, it still might not work. (Mine didn't.) But if you do find your baby had a chromosome defect, find a small measure of comfort in knowing that although you lost this one precious baby, the chances of if happening again are extremely small. If you are over 35, though, your odds will begin increasing dramatically.
After the 2nd trimester begins, the number of miscarriages caused by genetic factors drops to less than 10 percent.3 If you have had several miscarriages in a row, then your odds of this being your problem are quite low, about 7%.42 If you are over 35, though, your odds will begin increasing dramatically.
FM me if you have any questions. Hope this helped

Re: tonights doc appt and a question
thanks soo much for your reply... i totally agree the internet scares the **** outta u lol but i did learn alot and i like to know about things so when the doc says something i kinda understand a little also its easier to explain to dh cuz he is clueless about this stuff... i never asked for the reason to my first mc but i think i am going to call today and find out if they had one... he is doing the thrombophilia profile first and said if he doesnt find anything then he will do chromosone testing on us because the first time there was an empty sac and this time there was nothing so he doesnt think its normal
